The Niagara County chapter in Mather & Brockett's Geographical History of the State of New York (1848).  The authors gave Niagara County good coverage as the upstate counties go.  In any event, this is an important part of the historical record of the county and deserves to be seen.  In addition to the seven pages (including map) about the county itself, we are including the section from Mather & Brockett providing the land grants and patents that underlie the state.  7++ pages, in PDF format.  Download now for $2.75.

First publicationWe have a set of photographs by a loyal, long-time customer of ours (who also has been a contributor to several of our CDs) of Niagara Falls.  This set is special, because it was taken when the American side of Niagara Falls was shut down "for repairs" a few decades ago.  We'll be publishing them as a download shortly.  Be sure to check back!

Niagara County was separated from Genesee County in 1808.  You may also want to consult our Genesee County page for locations that may have been affected by this transaction.

Erie County was subsequently removed from Niagara County.  See our Erie County page for more information.
