Google™ Custom Search is here!We've heard customers say that they found something here on the website just by chance after our old search engine came up empty looking for it. Well, that was NOT good news!! Previously we had considered using Google site search, but decided it was too expensive for our limited budget. However, we know the high quality of Google search results so we looked again. Guess what! Google now has a search solution for us, called Google Custom Search. When you search on it, you'll see some links to others not affiliated with Between the Lakes Group (I guess you could refer to them as advertisements, if you felt inclined). However, right under the ads you'll see some excellent search results drawn directly from our own websites. We've experimented with it at length, and it looks great to us. We think it's a major improvement over our old search solution. Try it out and tell us what you think! |

Downloads AND CD-ROMsWe received many questions from customers about why we didn't offer historical material for download from our website. Of course, we've been offering some free download items for a long time now, but these questions involved material that we would typically have accumulated until we had enough to justify publishing a CD-ROM. That meant that some material would NEVER be available! We looked into downloads, and discovered that, since most of our customers and visitors to our website now have high speed internet connections, downloads do make a lot of sense. We found a service affiliated with our old friends at PayPal that supports the download process seamlessly, and we decided to go ahead. Downloads are already a big hit with our present customers and new customers are discovering them as well. Prices for downloads are considerably lower than for CD-ROMs, so take a look at our catalog and see if one of the new downloads appeals to you. And if you really prefer CD-ROMs, better act fairly rapidly -- our CDs will continue to be available only while they last. ...and we'll have more announcements coming too! Check back often!
