Affordable Research Materials
In our current economic climate, most people
think twice before spending money on materials for their historical or
genealogical research. We admit it: we do too.
However, we would like to point out some
reasons why you can probably save money by purchasing our
genealogical and historical CD-ROMs.
- Our CDs are much cheaper than the same
material is in book form -- if you can even locate it in book form.
Often our CDs are less than 20% of the retail price of the book -- and
virtually all our CDs also contain supplementary material not found in the
original book.
- Driving to a genealogical library (or
even your local library) is an increasingly expensive proposition. Did
you know that, according to the IRS, the total cost (as of July 2008) of
driving just one mile is more than 58 cents? That's something to think
about. If the library is 20 miles away, the IRS says that it will cost
you more than $23 to drive there and return! For that, you can buy
nearly any of our CDs, including shipping and handling, and still have money
left over! And with air fares rising rapidly, flying to a research
facility will soon be out of the question for virtually everyone.
- We are maintaining our shipping and
handling charge at $1.50 per order (not per CD-ROM). We don't see many
others who offer a price like this!
So, while we understand concerns about cost of
research materials, we hope you understand better the value we offer.
The best of luck with your research from
your friends at Between the Lakes Group!!
